Funding and Contributions

Overview

When you make a gift to the iBIO Institute you enable our mission of providing education, training, and research to the business and educational communities and to the general public. Your generosity helps us achieve our goal: creating a globally-recognized biotechnology center in Chicago, Illinois and the surrounding Midwest region.

The iBIO Institute is a not-for-profit corporation and is tax-exempt as a public charity under Sections 501(c)(3) and 509 of the Internal Revenue Code.  Gifts to the Institute are tax-deductible as provided by law.

  • The Growth Fund at the iBIO Institute provides a vital source of unrestricted income that supports every aspect of Institute activity and ensures that we are able to continue developing and expanding programs and take advantage of unique opportunities.
  • The Opportunity Fund ensures that the growing educational and career opportunities in the biotechnology sector are made available to underrepresented members of our community especially minority students and workers.
  • The Citizens Fund enables programs which educate the general public including children, adolescents, and adults about the promise of Life Sciences innovation. Citizens Fund programs examine the real issues while debunking rumors and myths about biotechnology.
  • The Sparks Fund is used to inspire children and help them to successfully pursue the studies in science and math which are foundational elements for careers in the life sciences.

We accept donations at any amount. Donors are recognized on our website at the levels below. Contributions may also be made anonymously.
