SBIR/STTR Training Workshop
In January 2007, the iBIO Institute, in partnership with the Champaign County Economic Development Commission, sponsored a 2-day intensive workshop to cover all aspects of writing SBIR/STTR grants focused on life sciences technologies.  27 life sciences entrepreneurs and economic development staff participated in the sessions conducted by the Biotechnology Business Consultants, LLC (BBC).  The workshops covered all agencies, including Department of Defense, National Science Foundation, and the National Institute of Health, and topics included sources of funding, eligibility, and details on proposal submissions.

Additional assistance for preparing SBIR/STTR applications may be available through the Illinois Dept. of Commerce and Economic Opportunity’s (DCEO) Innovation Challenge Technical Assistance Grant program.  Matching funds for successful grants may be available through DCEO’s Innovation Challenge Matching Grant program.
